What does “official philanthropic partner” mean? As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we raise both money and awareness to support programs and activities within these national parks. We focus on three key areas of support and allyship:
Education
Exploration
Conservation
We work to instill in all people an appreciation of Florida’s public lands and natural resources for what they are – the key to the sustainability and prosperity of the state – by enriching the park experience and connecting diverse communities to the nature that abounds in their backyards.
As The Alliance, we are about more than just raising funds – we unite those who champion the safeguarding of these national parks, ensuring that Florida remains natural, wild, and – most importantly – accessible.
The scope of the projects that we have supported over the years has increased significantly, so the reach that we hope to have within the Florida community and beyond has increased significantly as well. We believe that this more inclusive name for our organization will help us achieve that.
Many people are aware of the recreational offerings throughout the wild landscape of the Everglades, Biscayne, Dry Tortugas, and Big Cypress, but under the cypress domes, amongst the mangroves, knee-deep in the swamp, and in between the gator holes are a purposeful and agile group of national park rangers that are constantly creating ways to better conserve the resources within these lands, connect to the greater community, and cultivate lifelong learnings that will lead to a legacy of environmental stewardship. Their visions are sometimes so great and vast that additional support is needed on top of what is received from the National Park Service.
That’s where The Alliance – and you – come in! Together, we give the parks the extra boost that they need to ensure that our state’s greatest natural ecosystems are preserved and protected for generations to come.
