Volunteer Event – Tree Planting in Big Cypress

June 30, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Volunteer with the SFNPT  in Big Cypress National Preserve!

On Saturday June 30th we will plant trees at restoration sites along Turner River. Planting is hard work, but it is a rewarding experience that helps improve park habitat and benefits native plants and wildlife. We can’t do this project without the support of awesome volunteers!

This project is made possible through the generous support of the Guerra Family Foundation. Thank you for your continued support of South Florida’s national parks!

When: Saturday, June 30th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Where: Meeting at HP Williams Road Side Park (meeting details will be given to all guests who RSVP)

What To Bring: Lots of water, food, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, close-toed shoes you don’t mind getting wet and dirty, and gardening gloves. We will be planting in areas with standing water so dry shoes and clothing to change into after the event is recommended.

All Volunteers must RSVP:  To RSVP, contact Jessica Pierce  Jessica@southfloridaparks.org  OR   305-665-4769. Please provide your phone number, how many volunteers in your party and their names.  Volunteers should be high school age or older.

Thank you!!
