“The Other Pink Bird”
The SFNPT proudly supports Everglades National Park’s BioCorps Program with annual grants to support interns to work alongside scientists in the park. This month former BioCorps intern Elizabeth Lago will be presenting at Nerd Nite Miami. She will be presenting her work with Everglades and Biscayne National Park on Roseate Spoonbills. Elizabeth’s talk is number two in the lineup at Nerd Nite:
- Imagine a pink bird with an odd bill. If your first thought was “flamingo,” this presentation will change that. We will go over the history and predict the future of roseate spoonbills.
- Elizabeth Lago has been Biscayne National Park’s Spoonbill Intern since January 2017. She received her B.S. in Marine Biology from FIU and will be continuing her research on roseate spoonbills as a M.S. student in FAU .
