One mission. Four futures.

The Official Philanthropic Partner for Florida’s National Parks

The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks is the official philanthropic partner for Big Cypress National Preserve and Biscayne, Dry Tortugas, and Everglades National Parks.

Since 2002, our organization has supported Big Cypress National Preserve and Biscayne, Dry Tortugas, and Everglades National Parks. In 2020, we embraced a broader vision, emerging as The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks. We moved beyond traditional grantmaking to championing private philanthropy that fuels education, exploration, and conservation.

And this is where you make the difference.

Your support keeps vital National Park Service programs alive. Every gift sparks curiosity in classrooms, inspires new generations of park visitors, nurtures a love of exploration, and safeguards the natural treasures that sustain Florida’s national Parks and preserve.

Together, we ensure these parks remain vibrant, protected, and accessible – for today and for generations to come.

Our Focus

Education, Exploration & Conservation

Our organization was founded in 2002 as the South Florida National Parks Trust. From 2002 to 2020, we managed state funds entrusted to Big Cypress National Preserve and Biscayne, Dry Tortugas, and Everglades National Parks. In 2020, when the Trust was no longer available for the national parks, our name changed to The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks, and our new purpose shifted to fundraising so we could leverage private philanthropy to support education, exploration, and conservation in our Florida national Parks.

Education

We fund curriculum-based programs created by the National Park Service that align with Florida’s state standards. These in-class and field trip experiences give students hands-on learning in nature, inspiring environmental awareness and future conservationists. With donor support, we ensure these impactful programs reach classrooms across South Florida.

Exploration

We encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to discover the beauty and diversity of Florida’s national parks. Through public events, community programs, and outreach efforts, we help foster meaningful connections to these natural spaces. These experiences not only inspire a deeper appreciation for the parks but also build lasting support and advocacy for their future.

Conservation

We support conservation efforts, ensuring our parks stay healthy – even when federal funding is limited. The ongoing conservation efforts we help fund are critical to the future of our parks, helping these natural treasures thrive regardless of limitations in federal funding. It’s up to us to keep conservation efforts going now and for the long term!

Our Mission

The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks uses the power of philanthropy to support education, exploration, and conservation in Big Cypress National Preserve and Biscayne, Dry Tortugas, and Everglades National Parks.

What Makes Us Different

The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks plays a vital role in sustaining essential and significant programs that federal funding simply does not cover. These impactful programs – ranging from student field trips to community outreach and habitat restoration – depend on private philanthropy. Thanks to our generous supporters, we ensure that critical park programs continue to thrive, educating teachers and students, connecting communities to nature, and preserving the health and beauty of Florida’s national parks for generations to come. As official park partners, we do not engage in advocacy and provide nonpartisan support to Florida’s national Parks.
