Big Cypress Celebration


Combining adventure and learning, this family-friendly event at Big Cypress National Preserve features a variety of hikes led by experienced guides. Participants of all ages can choose from two hiking options and limited camping spots.

8:30 am – 3:30 pm  

  • Hikes may be wet or dry, depending on water levels   
  • Fun for nature lovers of all ages   
  • 100% of ticket proceeds benefit The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks, the official philanthropic partner of Big Cypress National Preserve and Biscayne, Dry Tortugas, and Everglades National Parks  
  • Walking tours, meet park rangers at educational booths, delight in delicious food from Juanchitos Food Truck, and enjoy live music  

Hike Options Available 
Guided hikes depart every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with small groups of 10 participants.

Live Music, Art, and Food

Enjoy live entertainment by Gator Nate from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Florida’s self-proclaimed “wildest one-man band,” performing his signature blend of homegrown swamp blues and country funk. The event also includes an artist-led painting activity with Dave Lavernia, offering a creative, hands-on experience for participants of all ages. Delicious food will be available for purchase from Juanchitos Grill, creating space to relax, refuel, and celebrate the day while supporting The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks.

Clothing

Please be prepared for water on the trail, as conditions are weather dependent. We recommend wearing clothing that can get wet and bringing a change of clothes and shoes.
